Had a blast doing science with our little buddies yesterday. It's all about pumpkins this week!
Okay, it was bound to happen....... now that most of our review work is done, we will have various homework assignments. So check this page often!!! Our first assignment will be starting right now!! Each student needs to do some research on the animals of madagascar. Then they need to pick their favorite animal and write a paragraph about that animal and WHY they chose it. Below their paragraph, they need to list SIX facts about that animal. Don't stress, you have 10 days to complete it. This report is due Monday November 3, 2014.
Once they present their projects in class, we will be creating their animal here at school for the art and literature fair. As always, if you have any questions please email me :) We had a visitor from the Senators office come and teach us all about Elections. It was fun to learn about the whole process. We talked about all the signs we see on the side of the road and all the crazy commercials and promises some candidates make to win our vote. It was also pretty exciting to have a mock election with pretend ballots. Some of our ballots accidently got lost, which lead us into a discussion of voter fraud. LOL
We had a wonderful week writing halloween stories and creating spooky ghosts, haunted houses and pumpkins.... Don't forget, Monday morning at 8:30 am we will be doing our quick piggy skit with Ms. Wadsworth!! :)
Next Monday is a busy busy day.... It's All school morning meeting where our class will be presenting our little pig play at 8:30 am and parents are invited to come watch our short 10 minute skit. Next Monday is ALSO our field trip to Plimouth Plantation, so pack your lunches and wear comfortable shoes and a jacket!!
In Science our weather unit is underway and in Geography we our learning about the town, state, country and continent that we live on. We're still reviewing in Math and Language Arts because it is so important to have a solid foundation in which to build.
